Staying Up Late With Rose (…on MSN!)

Well, I have finished reading “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown (FINALLY!). And I have to tell you, it’s a hella good book! Although it’s a controversial book between Science and Religion (God, Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, Zeus, Horus, etc…), it’s really good and it really makes you think. Anyway, above all the controversy going on about THIS book and Dan Brown’s other book, “The Da Vinci Code”, I would have to say that they are REALLY good. True that some of these things may not be true and completely idiotic… But hey, remember, these things are based on FACTS – but then, there is one part in Da Vinci Code that mentions about Jesus having a baby with Mary Magdalene… Oh well, as Dan Brown has said… it’s FICTION! So, hope you guys check them out: “Angels and Demons” and “The Da Vinci Code” – I recommend “Angels and Demons” first because there are some parts in Da Vinci Code referring to Angels and Demons… Anyway, I think I’ll be getting “The Deception Point” anytime soon… hopefully…

Alright, forget all the of the books… Throughout the pass week, I have been either staying up all night chatting with Rose, Ray Fong, and Maytee (whom I had great conversations with about various topics) or just lost in “Angels and Demons”. BUT! From what I remember, some time last week, I was up until 3 to 4 AM in the morning playing a game with Rose. It is called “Samorost“. You may think that we are so childish that we play games. Erm… ahem… The game there is REALLY good because it makes you think and it might even take you a REALLY long time to do it because it IS hard… Here are the cheat codes for the FINAL TWO levels that was REALLY hard…

Level 6 – Click on the button on the tank to release your spaceman. Then click on the wooden arrow on the tree. As soon as the armadillo eats the bug, you quickly go up the stairs. Click on the metal box and the black thing inside it. You should have a set of buttons on your top right corner. Click on the last button on top and all the buttons at the bottom. Then click on the door!

Level 7 – The scene appears black – Click on the red dot. Then you go to the button panels. You click TWICE on the button near to the “+” (plus) sign. After that, you click on the button near to the STAIRS button. Click on the safe opener when the stairs are finally up. Then the spaceman turns the panel and everything is DONE! You’ve won the game!

Anyway, try it out… Also, while I checked my email today, Rose sent me an email from HarryPotter.com. The thing she sent me was the “Tea Leaf Reading”. Of course, I thought that it would be a normal “you will die! you will die! ARGH! It’s the GRIM! BEWARE!” (as Professor Trelawney has said in Prisoner of Azkaban)… But no! It was quite shocking… The message was:

Of course, at the part that it said about my family, my height, and my hair, I was like… WOW! How did they do this!? But then when it came to the part about the fried chicken and the Snowman part… I was like… Hmmm… I think Rose did this! Pretty cool! I’m..a genius..*..yea yea I do agree coz HE DOES knows alot….he may be weird to some but hes just normal to me…(which definition of normal???..0_o) anyways….Ray-Fong likes pie…..thought you should knnow that…..

AMARA: Amara, you’re Amara. She’s very funny with her weird sense of humor, she doesn’t like attention, and she’s really straight forward, her thoughts are evil, but she never succeeded them (mwahahaha i like that part about her) but her best quality is she’ll stand up for her frend until the end

ROSE: Me, you’re like me…I like to be cool (basically…I’m a tomboy..) I am very easy with anybody!, I can easily make ppl laugh , I’m always participating in many things (dont think of means I’m a nerd..dude..) I dun get good grades but hey! I’ve made tons of frends!….and eeeekk I tends to be very crazy at times…and yea I’ve got many frends..many boy ones..but they’re just another group of pl hu I can easily talk to..(wen girls get annoying..)

PRIM: Girl!!! you’re Prim!! hot gal I’d say!! she’s just like any ordinary girl you’ll find but, what makes her different ? She’s not BITCHY!!! or like those bitch-ass popular girls around..NOPE she’s not..(even though i wonder sometimes if she wants to..) BUT shes not those biatch…shes nice (she really can!) shes kind and loyal!! ( yeah i agree on that!) shes pretty hot too (and no i aint a lezbo!)….i’m always wondering where’d she gets those legs of hers……wow~~

CANDY: Candy (no I’m not talking about the food) you’re like Candy, the cute and sweet girl similar to her name!, you’re very dreamy at times but thats not bad! you love to draw and listen to music…what more can be better??? BOYS are totally after you!!..not only you have looks….you have brains!! last time i heard she said she only got 2 B’s in her report card (0_0…god…i BARELY hav any A’s…) well g’luck with the boys tho!!

Well… Today I found out my results for Harrow and I GOT IN! HOORAH! But wait a minute… not really “hoorah”… let’s see, I’ll miss all of my friends at RIS and especially all of my BEST friends… Man, that’s the bad thing for moving there… Well, hey, you guys, Mandy, Pim, Tent, Tanya, Jirayuth, Kritithy, Rose, Ray Fong, Ice S., Teng-Wei, Candy, Kris, Maytee, and the rest of you guys out there, I AM still in Bangkok, so we COULD meet up sometimes… It’s not like I’m moving to England or America or New Zealand (like several of our other classmates)… I am still here!! Also, on the Sunday that just passed, I went to my Dad’s friend’s daughter’s wedding. It was held at Dusit Thani – a VERY beautiful hotel. Well, as most of you guys here in Thailand here know, it was the same day that LINKIN PARK (…you BETTER know who they ARE!) had their concert in Thailand. God darnit… I missed it! I was DYING to go there but then I had to come to this wedding… Anyway, the wedding was really nice… after all, it WAS at Dusit Thani… Well, the wedding reception went really well (so did the food ). The reception dinner was something like a cocktail party and as you may have guessed, I have had a LOT of bites… Don’t ask me for the number because I can’t remember… Well, after meeting the Bride and the Groom, a bunch of my parents’ business partners, a lot of people I don’t even know, and an old lady next to me who kept on farting, I had a pretty good time… Also, did I tell you that I got a haircut during the weekend? Well… yeah… So you will see how I look like with my hair cut and when I’m wearing a suit. The following picture is a picture of Lynn and me at the reception. And YES, Ray Fong, it IS me…

The Entrance Exam – HARROW’S Entrance Exam…

Sorry for not updating for a whole week… I was quite busy… You might be wondering like some of my friends: “Busy with what? It’s summer!” Well… I was quite busy with “studying” (I know, I’m such a nerd…) for my examination into Harrow International School. And as most of my friends have been saying when I told them that I might be going to Harrow, they were all like: “WHAT? Why are you going to Harrow? What’s wrong with RIS? Harrow isn’t a good school!!” Well… anyway, some people like Mandy actually saw the campus and actually like it! She said that it’s really good! And I also went there and I think it’s excellent… So… I don’t know about you guys! Anyway, here is what happened on the day I had my exam (June 17, 2004)…

00:00 AM — Struggling to sleep because sleeping in mom and dad’s room because of my stupid air con that broke down…

01:00 AM — STILL having problems sleeping… Finally fall asleep later…

02:00 – 06:30 AM — Snoozin… zZzZzZzZzZzzzz……..

06:30 AM — ACK!?! IT’S MORNING ALREADY?! I’M STILL SLEEPY! Hmmm… my parents are still asleep… maybe I could manage to sleep for a few more minutes. *Lies down to sleep when –* “JASON! GET UP!” My dad says waking me up completely… Darn… so much for a few minutes of sleep…

07:00 AM — Finish brushing my teeth, taking a quick shower, and dressing up… YAWN! Hmmm… Let’s see what’s forrrr breakfasssstttttttzzzzz…… WAIT! STAY UP! MUST STAY UP! MUST–STAY–UP!!

07:10 AM — Had a few pieces of bread… Alright… I need a copy of my report card… Let me find it… Where’s my report card? *Looks on my desk* Where’s my report card?! *Looks at the computer* GOD DARN IT!! WHERE IS MY DARN REPORT CARD?!?! SHOOT! SHOOT! WHERE IS IT? *Turns the table over and searches the room* Oh God… I can’t find it… I’m going to die! *Glances at the computer table again and sees a white piece of paper under the keyboard* THERE IT IS! PHEW! Now… is my family ready? Great… Let’s see… Nope… Alright, let me find some pencils, pens, eraser, etc…

07:20 AM — Dad goes downstairs and gets ready. Wait a minute… Is what I’m wearing (black T-shirt + black pants) appropriate? Do I have to wear my uniform? Well… I don’t think so… right? Anyway, better get ready…

07:25 AM — Great… Mom and Lynn aren’t ready yet… Dad decides to take me first to avoid traffic because the meeting begins at eight o’clock sharp. In just a few seconds, Dad and I leave home and drive towards Harrow.

07:30 AM — Well, so far so good! No traffic and I’m pretty much on time!

07:35 AM — Shit, shit, shit… (sorry for the rough language) The traffic looks like it’s been going on for years! God! 25 minutes left… Well, not that bad!

07:40 AM — ARGH! 20 minutes left! I’m gonna be late!

07:42 AM — Reach Harrow just in time… 18 minutes left…

07:45 AM — Finally find a parking place and get out of the car. Oh no! I forgot the report card in the car! Hold on dad, just a second… Give me the car keys… No I won’t take the car!!… I finally got my report card… Hey DAD! WAIT UP!

07:48 AM — Reach the registration building after struggling through a wave of kids running, talking, shouting, laughing, walking, sleeping, and working…

07:50 AM – Reach the mini-theatre. Walk in and see students and parents all over… Umm… wait a minute… There’s a student in a uniform there…

07:52 AM — Uh-oh… Another kid with a uniform… Two people in formal clothing… A boy in “loog-sua” (boyscout) uniform… Am I wearing the right clothes?

07:53 AM — Finally! First person without a uniform or a necktie or a boyscout uniform! More people come in. *Note: I was sitting at the back row*

07:58 AM — Okay, where are mom and Lynn???

08:00 AM — Seriously, where are they? The meeting started already!! Introduced to Mrs. Eastgate and Mr. Appleton.

08:10 AM — Basically been told about the different exams (English, Math, and Non-Verbal — something like an IQ test). The next five minutes, Khun Lily translates everything in Thai. Mom and Lynn arrive sometime around here. Also, the boy in the boyscout uniform in front of me actually had notes in his hands and was studying from it.

08:16 AM — Khun Lily finishes talking and students are told to be taken to another room. Great… We needed calculators… I FORGOT MY CALCULATOR?!?! Oh well, they said that they will have some for us…. PHEW…

08:20 AM — Arrive at the test room and people take their seats. Mrs. Eastgate tells us that the exam will be about three hours… (Think to myself: THREE HOURS?!) Non-verbal test will go first, followed by Math, and lastly, English. She also mentioned that while we do our Math and English exams, she will call out some of us to do the interviews. Anyway, she took role-call from year to year… As for as i remember, there were three students applying for Year 12 (one girl had a problem with the registration because her mother just registered her in the morning — so they didn’t prepare a test for her — Mrs. Eastgate was quite mad)… About 2-3 people were applying for Year 11 (One person from RIS, Julie (Class of 2007), was there too. There was also another girl, Jojo, from Chiang Mai that was applying for that Year, too.) Quite a lot of people were applying for Year 10 – well, not THAT much, but there were about 3-4 people in all (This boy from Vermont, whose name I found out later was “Pun” – as in to make, an Indian boy, the boyscout person, and me.) There were two little kids from ISB – one who showed up last year too, according to Mrs. Eastgate, who recognized him immediately… Anyway, she called my name wrong… She went by my nickname that I don’t use… And DON’T ask me what it is!

08:45 AM — Non-verbal exam started. 52 questions. 30 minutes.

09:10 AM — Finished my exam. Went over and made sure wasn’t skipping any of those patterns.

09:15 AM — Non-verbal exam ended. Mr. Appleton explained the Math exam and Mrs. Eastgate said that she will be calling students out to interview them. Thank God, she was going from the highest year to the lowest.

09:18 AM — Math exam began. 11 questions. 70 points. Approximately 90 minutes. As my classmates may know, I am not exactly a genius in Math… So I had a few problems with some of the questions. Went fine with the equations, graphs, pie graph, calculating, etc, etc… Came to a question on probabily and tree diagram. Hmmm… Let’s see, the last time I actually learned about tree diagrams was in… FIFTH GRADE! Joy… Later, a question about Talley and Frequency came up about 40 guinea pigs… Umm… What am I supposed to find? Anyway, with the limited knowledge of my brain, I tried to make a reasonable answer that I thought was right… Don’t even ask how I got it…

10:05 AM — Mrs. Eastgate called me to go and do the interview. At this point, it was raining cats and dogs. Of course, as anyone would be, I was nervous, excited, and worried. Oh, and my hands were all cold and my throat was all dry. She asked questions like:

“How long have you been in RIS?”
“Why do you want to come to Harrow?”
“What are your hobbies?”
“Do you have any siblings?”
“Will you have any difficulties adjusting to a British system from an American system?”
“Do you do any afterschool activities?”
“Do you play any instruments? If so, how long?”
“Do you know anybody in Harrow?”
“Which of these classes will you choose from the following?”

10:15 AM — Finally finished the interview. Returned to Math exam.

10:30 AM — Checked over my work and turned it in. Began my English exam. I don’t remember how many questions there were and how many points was the exam worth. But it was to take us 90 minutes.

11:15 AM — Okay… Let’s see… I finished the reading comprehension part… Just the… Summarizing, Letter Writing, “Job Application”, and Protesting part… *Sigh*… Okay… here it goes…………………………………

NOON — Hmm… Let’s see… check, check, check, check, check, check… done, done, done, done, done……. Wait, what did you say Mrs. Eastgate? WHAT?!?!? WE CAN FINISH AT ANYTIME? ARGH! I SPENT THE LAST 45 MINUTES WRITING AS FRIGGIN FAST AS I CAN TO FINISH ON TIME! Oh… She also said that we can do as long as we can and that those who already did their interviews can leave, but those that didn’t do their interviews yet have to stay first.

12:15 PM — After going over billions, trillions, gazillions, bazillions, and zillions times, I finally handed my test papers in… Hmmm… I also noticed that only 4 people (including me) finished… Oh well, at least I’m glad that I finished it!

12:20 PM — Went down to the lobby to find mom and Lynn waiting in the lobby. Went to them, talked to them for a few minutes, and we waited for parents to go and talk to Mrs. Eastgate. We also got to talk to Pun and Jojo’s mothers, who were really nice.

01:00 PM — Went around looking at the school facilities. Oooh… nice canteen… What mom? BUFFET?! FREE?! Oh, well, not really free, but you get to eat as much as you can… Hmmm…. Interesting… Yes Mandy, I won’t eat THAT much so that I end up looking like a big old panda! Anyway… We later went to the library and HOLY COW! It’s really nice! A great environment for reading with lots of books and lots of tables… Hmmm… It closes at 7 PM on Mondays to Thursdays! It’s even open on Saturdays! Cool! Anyway, we then went to the Science building and Lynn told me that while the parents were taking a tour, a boy was sent out from class for being completely naughty. Whoa… That’s quite unlike RIS… We didn’t have a chance to visit the gym area because it started to rain (again), but Lynn told me that there are TWO swimming pools that are OLYMPIC SIZE! And the gym has air con. Also, the soccer field is dug 6 feet underground… Quite weird but pretty cool!

01:30 PM — Finally left Harrow and came home.

01:45 PM — Reach home and had a very late “lunch”.

02:00 PM – Finished lunch and collapsed onto the couch and dozed off for the next three hours.

02:00 – 05:00 PM — Snoozin again…. ZzZZZZZZzzzzzzzz…….

05:00 PM — Woke up. Had dinner. Watched TV. (YES, I know I am a couch potato, you don’t have to remind me about that, Mandy!)

07:00 PM — Went upstairs. Used the com for about 30 minutes. Decided to go and take a shower.

08:00 PM — Finished shower. Came back to use the com. Went online. Checked mail. Blah, blah, blah…

09:00 PM — Still using the com…

10:00 PM — Is there anything good on TV? Nah…

11:00 PM — Picked up Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix. Just skimmed around some of the chapters. YAWAN… sleepy…

00:00 AM — Brushed my teeth. Went to bed.

Well, that was just what happened on THURSDAY, JUNE 17, 2004. Oh, I didn’t mention earlier, but not only does Harrow have rooms with air con, but even their hallways have air cons! Also, one good thing for me, NO ASSEMBLIES IN THE MORNING! HOORAH! NO NEED FOR STANDING IN THE SUN ANYMORE! Well, I am really sleepy right now because it’s 2:40 AM… My results for Harrow will come out on Monday… So I hope that I get in… Anyway, I’m going to go and sleep now, see you later!

Looking Back on the Eighth Grade Advisement Trip

Today, I was looking through some of my old worksheets from Eighth Grade and I came upon one that brought back some great memories. This worksheet is a Spanish worksheet that we had to do during class time about the “Days of the Dead” or in Spanish, “Dia de los Muertos.” Yes, yes, yes, it contains information on the festival and has some activities, but what caught my attention was the drawing at the bottom of the page. Below all of the information, I found a sketch that Ray Fong made while Srta. Jodee told us to write a paragraph about a picture. Well, not that Ray Fong and I didn’t follow instructions and just drew pictures, but we were already done… Back to the picture, on it, there are cartoon characters of 12 students in our grade. I have to say, this picture is quite interesting… No, it’s not a sketch of the actual people, but it’s rather a sketch of what they are called. So… the picture had cartoon figures of a jellyfish, a chicken, a hog, a frog, a crow, a giant, a pumpkin man, a sheep, a “flying” squirrel, a duck, a tortoise, and a little rabbit. Who do these pictures represent? Well… just try and guess… There’s Candy, Maytee, Tent, Tanya, Pim, Jirayuth, Mandy, Rose, Teng-Wei, Daniel R., Ray Fong, and myself. I can still remember that after Spanish class, we went to Advisement and continued to draw some more pictures… And right after that, we had the sign ups for who we want to stay with for our Advisement trip to Supalai Pasak Resort Hotel in Saraburi. It was a total mess having approximately 240 students cramping at one small bulletin board trying to write each other’s names down Anyway, this summer has been quite dull. It has been only one week and it is practically raining every single day. Above the pouring rain, the flashing lightning, and the cracking thunder, my internet connection keeps on losing its signal and I have to keep on reconnecting on and on and on and on… Thank God we don’t have to pay for every time we connected! Talking about computers, my computer is really retarded right now… Every time I go some websites, the computer will always have “LOW SYSTEM RESOURCES” popping up and once I click “CLOSE”, the whole computer freezes and I have to restart the computer all over again. Earlier, I mentioned that my grade had an Advisement Trip to Supalai Pasak Resort during November. Well, that was a pretty fun trip but a really tiring one. We left school early in the morning to avoid traffic on our journey to the resort. Note one thing, the trip will take about 4 hours… So our journey was really long. In all, there were five buses – four big ones and one small. My bus, which was bus number one, was really active. There were a group of Korean students that were at the back and they turned on their radio really loud that it later annoyed one of our bus chaperones, Mr. Robert Badaracco. Also, we had some people that kept on taking photos of each other and it was getting really annoying. Anyway, bus number two was practically all girls except for Ben R., who was the only boy there because he was the last to sign up. On bus number three, it was all boys. Bus number four was pretty okay with boys and girls. As for bus number five, the small bus, it was made up of the entire “+ $ – ! 3 @ +” group When we finally reached Supalai, which was some time around noon, we had to go and get our keys to our bungalows. Since Supalai is a resort made up of bungalows and forests, it was a long walk by the time my friends and I made it to our bungalow. The girls were really lucky because they were close to the swimming pool, the meeting hall, and the dining room. As for we boys, well, we were all the way at the very far end of the resort. There will be two bungalows that will be connected to make up one. The people who stayed with me in those bungalows were Maytee, Teng-Wei, Tent, Rakshet, and Raveen. At first, we went to our bungalow but the problem was that it wasn’t a twin bungalow. So we had to walk all the way back to find Mrs. Rao, our Science teacher, at the reception area. After a long talk with the receptionist, she finally got a twin bungalow for us. Luckily, instead of having to walk all over again, the resort van came by and took us to our bungalows. When we reached there, we finally settled in and got our stuff out and made ourselves at home. By then, Rakshet realized that he forgot his medicine and toothbrush in the other bungalow… Great… But it was too late because we had to go to the dining hall to have our lunch. So we decided that we’ll go and get it later when we’re done eating. But because some students decided to have free time first, all of us decided to go bike riding around the resort. Apparently, some students went swimming and then a pandemonium happened. Some people began pushing each other into the pool. Of course, to the students, this didn’t seem to be wrong. But then our teachers came rushing and were lecturing the students. Later, I sort of got lost around Supalai because it was really big and really confusing but luckily, I arrived at the meeting hall on time for the activities. If I arrived a few minutes later, I would have joined the “Clean-up Club”, which is a club made up of students that got there late (and students who were pushing each other into the pool) who have to go around the whole resort and pick up the trash. At the meeting hall, Mrs. Rao informed us that one of our classmates, Mak, got into an accident where his bike went and hit another person’s bike. This accident caused him to have some serious injuries and he had to be rushed to the hospital immediately. To begin the activities, the teachers had a little screaming contest going by homeroom to homeroom. Later, we were taken outside to have some cooperative activities. The activities were things such as students forming a circle and holding each other hands as they try to pass the hula hoop onto the next person. Other activities were trying to pull six people up from the floor together in one try. Another activity that made everybody excited about was trying to fit each other into a circle of strings. After these activities, the students were allowed to play sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball, and swimming. Of course, during this, the “Clean-up Club” had to go around and clean things up. Later around 5-6 PM, the students were sent to the meeting hall again, but this time, the hall was divided into two parts by a big red cloth. Students were divided into two different groups. Now that the two groups are on either side of the hall, the groups are divided into approximately 10 subgroups. On my side, while Mrs. Rao was giving instructions, several students weren’t listening, for example: Maytee, and Mrs. Rao had a very clever way of getting their attention. Here’s how it went: Mrs. Rao: Alright, you guys have to— Students: Blah, blah, blah, blah…. Mrs. Rao: Can I have your attention…. Maytee: (standing in front of Mrs. Rao but talking to somebody else) Blah, blah, blah…. Mrs. Rao: Hey… (at the top of her lungs into the microphone) YOU GUYS HAVE TO— Maytee: (louder) BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH…. Mrs. Rao: (Shouting into the microphone and in front of Maytee) HEY!! SHUT UP!!!! Maytee: —silence— (probably went deaf for a short while) Finally, after getting the students’ attention, my section was supposed to make a poster about Peer Mediation. While our side went writing and presenting, the other side of the hall was screaming with laughter. Hmmm… I wonder what they’re doing… After 45 minutes, the two sections switched sides. When we went to the other side, we found out that we had to make up a building that was about one meter tall and that contains only the materials given (color paper, poster paper, A4 paper, a paper plate, glue, scissors, and a pencil). Not only do we have to make a building, but it has to be able to withstand a “tornado”. What the teacher meant by “able to withstand a tornado” was that the building has to stand and not fall while a person is blowing with al their might onto it. Hmmm… sounds quite easy. Anyway, after rounds of screaming and laughter, it finally came down to three different buildings. One that was ours, another one that was quite short, and another really tall one. Mr. Neil decided to go by the beauty and the height. Obviously, the short one was cut out and it came down to my group’s building and another group’s building. After a long discussion with Mr. Kevin, Mr. Neil finally announced the winner. Who was it? MY GROUP! After hard work, we finally got our prize… What was it? Just two Hershey chocolates… We finally went to dinner and had to proceed to the yard next where we will have our campfire ceremony. Throughout the campfire ceremony, there were three different classes that performed. The ceremony began with 8-4’s “Teacher Mocking”, which had students from the class acting like the teachers. There were Mr. Alex’s “Bad Baby” quote, Mr. Robert Badaracco’s “Zero talking or you’re coming at lunch” quote, Mrs. Rao’s “Plagiarism is a crime and I am smell sensitive” quote, and some other quotes from Mr. Neil and Mr. Lindemann. Ms. Aloha’s “tribe”, the “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Humuhumunukunukuapuaa Tribe”, did a very interesting dance show that was had Andy, Yu-Ting, and Rakshet wearing Hawaiian skirts. As those three guys danced, there were some other people in the class that either danced along or were running around the audience carrying “waves”. After the entertaining Hawaiian dance, Mr. Alex’s class did a drama skit about a ghost story at Supalai. Note: People actually believed that there were two ghost sisters that would walk around resort at night… Interesting how eighth graders still believe in ghost stories. Oh, I forgot to tell you, while the campfire ceremony was going on, nearby us was the swimming pool and there was a person speaking into the microphone. Apparently, I did not see this but according to everybody who saw it, they said that there were these two women dressed up in nice evening gowns and slowly stepped into the swimming pool. Then, the chorus of “Raining Men” came up and the girls took off their gowns… When we were told this, Ray Fong was saying things like: “Aww… I missed it! I can’t believe I missed it!” And the guy who was talking into the microphone was saying things like: “Oh! Ow loey krub! Tod eag!” (Translation: “Oh! Come on! Take off more!”) Those who know Thai were laughing their heads off while non-Thai speakers were all like: Huh?! Anyway… After the campfire, we went back to our bungalows and had a very nice sleep. The night was pretty okay until we realized that we forgot to take out a bottle of water from the freezer… And let’s see… it’s been there for one, two, three, four…EIGHT HOURS?!?! And you can probably guess, it was as hard as ice… Because it was so hard, we came up with a name for it, “The Rock”. For safety’s sake, the school had this whole rule about girls not being in boys’ bungalows and boys not being in girls’ bungalows… Well, they came up with this way of solving it by attaching tape to the door so that if the door has been open, you will not be able to reattach it from the inside. Of course, our bungalow had a back door and the Mr. Neil and Mr. Kevin (our watchers) weren’t about to tape it until I accidentally said, “you’re not going to tape the back door?” And for the rest of the night, my friends were kind of mad at me. Talking about back doors, I just realized that under my bungalow, there was a snake there. And when we were going to come into the house, we were all scared that the snake would pop out and find our legs as a feast. Behind our bungalow, we have a cliff that is so high I nearly fell while taking a picture with Maytee’s camera. By the time we went to bed, it was around midnight and we were all exhausted… well, except for Tent, who had some kind of “wrestling” mood. While Rakshet and Raveen were safely protected in their room, which they locked, Maytee, Teng-Wei, and I were being bombarded by Tent, who kept on coming in and out and jumping on to us with “The Rock”. So, while Maytee, Teng-Wei, and I were in the bedroom, we abandoned Tent, who slept in the living room in front of the TV. While we were sleeping, there was a sort of symphony going on… Maytee was mumbling something while he slept and Teng-Wei was snoring, which kind of scared me. Also, I was sleeping near to the window and there were sounds coming from the outside from the party nearby. Anyway, after awhile, I finally fell asleep… The next morning, after Tent finally got out of his wrestling mode, we went to eat breakfast and found a lot of people rather sleepy with panda eyes. After waiting, we were summoned to the yard where we were divided into groups and were about to begin the “Walk Rally”. After thinking of a group name, group song, and group dance, we had to perform it in front of the whole grade. Also, my team was called the “Chickens” and our dance was a Chicken Dance… One of the teams was called “Oh Yeah!” and they sang the “Oh Yeah” song from the famous Thai movie, “Fan Chan”. After performing, we were divided into different spots and had to do different activities like going across a river with ropes, having people carrying a person across a volleyball net, doing a seventeen leg race, and etc. The activities were quite fun and at the very end of the rally, we found out that our team won! Wow! After two hours of running around and sweating, we were finally awarded with our price… A cap saying “Supalai Pasak Resort Hotel”. How thrilling… We had lunch and had a few minutes to go and pack our belongings. After checking out, we boarded the bus and headed back for Bangkok. This time, it seemed to have been quicker than usual, even though we stopped at a gas station to buy things. By the way, at the gas station, we found a broken window. Hmm.. I wonder how it got there… But later, Lim admitted that he did it. Anyway, we reached RIS (Ruamrudee International School) safely and all departed. This was one tiring trip. Man… To think about it now, I can’t believe how time flew by so quickly… It feels like Eighth grade just began yesterday! Oh well, ninth grade is coming up… Better hope that it isn’t as bad as Eighth grade! Current Album Listening to: Underneath by Hanson
