Dek Dent

June 23, 2006

Just some random thoughts that are going through my head right now while I wait for my friends to finish their English class so that we can go and eat lunch and learn Bio…

-Uni started and had some rub-nong [Welcoming the Freshmen] activities that weren’t as bad as the other faculties. All we had to do was dance around and sing songs – nothing like the big scandals last year with other universities, so don’t worry Tent!

-I learn at two buildings, the Science building and the International College [IC] building and have one class at each building at least once a day. This is a pain since both the two buildings are on two opposite sides in campus, which means that I have to take approximately a 10-minute walk just to get to each class. Really tiring, if you ask me. Yeah, I know there are song-taews that go around the school, but you have to wait for them for a long time. Besides, as someone said, “there’s nothing wrong with walking, it helps you to exercise!”. That’s easy for you to say if you have a car to take you around campus!

-My schedule isn’t all that bad. I have the whole morning off for Wednesdays and the whole morning + afternoon off on Fridays [still have to come to school in the evening for Bio though].

-Had to take an English Exemption exam just to see if we can just skip our English classes. I think everybody in the “Regular” schedule passed the exam. Got the highest score with Vikrum! So happy.

-ROTC starts next Wednesday already! That means that I won’t have the Wednesday mornings off. Darn it…

-Really digging the IC’s common room since it’s freaking cool, nice, and relaxing. And it’s really cold! Something that I like, lol.

-Really like the new Science building here since the facilities are really nice and the lab room is awesome.

-Not enjoying the Dao/Duen Competition since it means that we have to spend ages practicing how to dance afterschool and sometimes last until midnight. Hate it, hate it, hate it!

-Had a great time yesterday performing our “talent” for the competition with Ploy where we danced, acted, and Ploy sang. It was so funny, especially during the second part of the act where we had to pretend to kiss each other and people actually thought that we did it, haha!

-As I mentioned earlier, we have to do at least a ten-minute walk everyday to each building, but on some lucky days, Petch brings his pick up truck and the whole gang can get on it and ride to the other building. However, it always seems to rain whenever we get on the truck, which is not good since the guys are the ones that are outside in the open air and we end up getting wet by the time we reach the building!

-About the dao/duen thing earlier… They took a couple picture of each faculty and stuck them on a BIG billboard right in front of uni so you see everybody’s faces while you drive/walk in. That is freaking embarrassing, man!

-Gonna have to do a catwalk thing at Major Rangsit this Saturday [tomorrow] for the dao/duen thing. I have a really bad feeling about this.

-The “big” show will be on next Friday ["Freshy Day, Freshy Night"] and will have really cool artists like Thaitanium and AB Normal performing. To Harrovians: As I already told some of you, I won’t be able to attend the Leavers’ Ball because I have to attend this event and I can’t find a way to get out of it. I’ll try to make it to the next one next year though.

-Thank you P’Peaz, Tai, and Petch for helping me prepare for the Dao/Duen competition. And thanks a lot P’Daniel and P’Goi for lending me your books.

-Been enjoying the uni activities, e.g. rub-nong, dao/duen [even though it's freaking tiring], anti-worldcup gambling, etc, etc…

-Oh, and a note on the World Cup: GO BRAZIL + KOREA + GERMANY + ARGENTINA! [And fine Chris, England as well, :P ]

-And for the sake of the celebrations, “LONG LIVE THE KING”.

-Last but not least, I met really great fellow “Dek Dents” here and hope that we all make it through the next six years together. Just to name a few: Joon, Tom, Tae, Aire, Net, Mont, Ply, Yaya, Act, Pia, Wei, Petch, Arm, It, Manita [yeah, the RIS Manita], Joe, Pear, Praew, Ploy, Pump, etc…

Currently Listening to: Nothing, lol… Haven’t really had a chance to listen to music these days…

Recently Watched: The Omen – Watched it on one of the long weekend days with some of the “Dek Dents”. The movie was OK, but a little boring after awhile. And the kid that played Damian was kind of scary at first, but later, it just got really funny whenever he made that “scary” face. Pia got so scared at one point she actually put her legs up :P .. Other people just ended up falling asleep during the movie…

  3. tanya – yeah, it’s pretty active… fun at some times, but freaking tiring… especially the late hours of practicing T_T. will try to see if my friends were able to snap some pics from the dao/duen events [contestants aren't allowed to take cameras backstage b/c they're worried we mite photograph ppl in the dressing room or something...] miss you guys too.

tent – haha, yeah, true… there ought to be some “fun” stuff to do since all we have to do is just sing the cheer and dance around and stuff… oh and you forgot, i’m doing dentistry, so i have to learn SIX years so if you think about it, i’ll actually graduate the same time as you, haha! So we still have to pay, EQUALLY!
